toddler vitamin question.

DS has a prescribed liquid vitamin that has fluoride in it. He's been on it for nearly 2 years now, and his pedi. wants him to continue taking it (there's no medical reason he needs to take it; it's just her preference for her patients). I don't think this is appointment- or dr. call-worthy, so I'll ask experienced moms. Do you think it would be alright to just ditch the prescription vitamin and go w/ Flintstones or similar?

Re: toddler vitamin question.

  • Once DD was old enough she gave us a rx for a chewable fluoride and I still do a multi vitamin, gummy flinstones, she didn't like the chewable one.
  • I was told at DD appt the other day just to give her a vitamin so I give her the Flintstones I also give her a separate fluoride drops also per the pedi and the dentist

I still give her the liquid drops in her milk every morning. I am in no rush to switch. With our prescription plan, it is actually the cheaper option, and since my DD doesn't mind them, I see no reason to switch.

  • My DS is about a year older than yours and we've been doing 1/2 a Flintstones for close to a year. We were on a prescription iron supplement for awhile, and when he no longer needed that we started with the Flintstones.
She's crafty - and she's just my type.
