We haven't stopped using it yet, but that's because DD is small for her age, so she can still fit into it. My friend told me once they can sit up really well, you can ditch the baby tub. She said she did it at around 8 months.
We were still using it at home, but we've been up north visiting my parents (without a baby tub) and he LOVES playing in the big tub. ?I think I'll pack up his ducky tub when we get home. ?

When DD was pretty stable with sitting up alone - we bought a shower mat (for adults not for babies - way cheaper!) and set that down so her butt didn't slip (after DH "dropped" her one night! oops!)
The next hurdle is when they learn the pull up - bathtime can be a dangerous place!
We stopped using the NB plastic tub about a month ago and now use the inflatable ducky tub that he can sit up in.

I never used an actual baby tub. I used the Safer Bather pad, which was soft and I thought nicer for my DD to lay on. At about 4 months, when she was holding her head up very well and rolling, etc., I bought one of those bath seats, which she loved until about 9 months when she started pulling up and would attempt to get herself out of the seat! At that point, we just put in a grippy mat and just put her in the tub.

We stopped when the kids could sit on their own (on the floor). I then started using the sink. I would just fill it up part way. The babies don't have too much room to slip and slide around. Once they were really stable then we changed to the big tub.

Just recently. I have to give all my kids a bath, so it's easier to just bathe Kate in the bathtub before the other kids since she can sit up well on her own.
Still use it b/c of the soft bottom (it's a blow up tub) and soft bumpers that keep my squirmy DD from hitting her head. We'll use it until she literally can't fit in it anymore.
At about 6.5-7 months. We only put a couple of inches of water in the tub and put her belly down so she can crawl around. She loves it and it's much easier to wash her too!
