TTC after 35

OK, I have to ask....

I've been reading this and some other boards lately and have seen all the negative comments when someone DDs.  I've been wondering this for weeks now, and didn't want to sound like an idiot so I've kept it to myself.  But I'm going to ask anyway - why does everyone get so mad when someone DDs?  I just don't get it - why is this such a big deal? Embarrassed

Sorry if I'm sounding ignorant here!

  • I'm going to even more ignorant...Embarrassed

I hate to dregde up any unnecessary drama, but I looked up DD in the glossary and it either stand for Dear Daughter or Designated Driver...what am I missing?

  • LOL - don't worry!  I had to ask too a couple of weeks ago!  In the scenarios I'm talking about it means Dirty Deleter - when someone posts something and then goes back and delete's their post. :)

  • I believe you lose your post counts for any replies you've made in the thread, and apparently that's a very big deal for some ladies.

I also think it just gives people a reason to b!tch when a good, entertaining post gets deleted and they lose the chance for good snarkiness. Wink

  • Well, if a person takes the time to reply to you, it is considered rude to delete their reply (along with the thread).

    Yup.

And on those boards where people get flamed, it's considered good form to just let the post stand and move on - rather than take the more "cowardly" route of deleting it.

  • OK, I understand now and those all make sense.  Thanks for educating me!  Big Smile

  • Now I understand too...gymnast and I are such "young uns" on the boards.  You ladies are the greatest!!!
  • Thanks for asking, since I didn't really understand the whole thing either. I'm glad there isn't a lot of flaming going on here, if ever.
  • I know - I love this board and the ladies on here.  I have to laugh sometimes at the craziness that goes on at some of the other boards.  They are definitely entertaining but I'm afraid to post anything there for fear of flames!!  LOL

  • DD = dirty deleter.

I really don't get why people get all worked up when some poster deletes their own thread post even when they lose the post count.  Though I don't really care about my post count.

There are people who will save a thread that they deem really stupid to throw back in the original posters face months later or to C&P on a bunch of different boards.  So I can understand why people delete.
