My mom wanted to give DS vanilla ice cream when she was visiting last weekend. I told her no and I think she thought I was being overprotective. I don't even know that babies that age are supposed to have dairy, plus the sugar. I figure when he is a little older, grandma can go to town giving him treats, but I just think he is too young. Am I overprotective, or nuts?

Re: Ice cream for a 7 month old?
FIL wants to give DS all sorts of crap. I told him he has to wait until 1 year. After that he can have at it.
I did end up giving DS a bite of donut, some ice cream, and part of a gingerbread cookie. I got sick of everyone else giving him his first fun things.
