Am I being silly and paranoid Re MIl

My IL's can be a little strange somtimes. They are always trying to get my DD to hug and kiss them even when she really doesn't want too. I want down there yesterday and my MIL was playing with my little one and started to tickle her. She then touched her pretty high up on her thighs near her diaper area. I told my hubby I thought that was pretty inapporiate but he said his mom was just touching her and wouldn't do anything to hurt him. I am making somthing out of nothing right?

Babies tend to be ticklish on the inner thigh near the "diaper area". Silly and paranoid yes, unless your MIL has a history of abusing children.

eh. If she was tickling her, it likely was nothing. If your mommy gut instinct is screaming, then watch her when she is around the baby. If you just don't like your MIL and are looking for any reason to hate her, then bite your tongue.

My mom tickles DS in his upper/inner thigh area and he craaaacks up. I think a lot of babies are just ticklish there.

Did she 'touch' that area or 'tickle' it? Because I think that makes a big difference. And, I agree with pp, go with your mommy instinct.

I think you're being a little paranoid because of your history with your ILs. DS is ticklish right in that area, I've tickled him there before and so have my ILs. If she really was just tickling I don't see the big deal.
