Anyone design and print their own announcements?

Hi Ladies!

I have a layout in my head for my LO's baby announcement...and would prefer to just have it printed myself.  Do any of you know someone that will print the announcement for you - with your own design at a reasonable cost.  I'm looking at 200-250 announcements total (not me, my MIL really).  I don't see a reason to pay $1.70 each when I've already designed the things :-)  Maybe I'm just silly!!!

TIA

Re: Anyone design and print their own announcements?

  • I did.  I had this lady design something for me: www.winksanddaisies.etsy.com and then printed them as oversized postcards from Vista Print.  Super easy and cost more for postage than anything else.  That vendor is awesome and was super fast!  She designed it and sent it back to me within about an hour or two.  Made any changes I wanted her to and she was just so nice.  I would use her again in a heartbeat.

I actually found a design on tinyprints.com that I liked, but I wanted it in a different color and I wanted to add a back to the announcement so I could give family/friends our blog address and have a second picture of DD, so having her create it was my best option.

  • I also had a custom design and uploaded to Vista Print.  I ordered the 6x7 photocards and there was no extra postage required.  I got an email from them that they're offering free shipping on orders over $50.

  • I did mine!  I made them in publisher, then saved as a jpeg image (my own photos too).  I simply ordered them like a regular photo from shutterfly & then more later from walgreens. The font was a bit more pixelated (sp?) than perfect, but I'm probably the only one who noticed.

  • I also had mine printed through Vistaprint.

  • I made mine in photoshop and printed them as a 5X7 picture at Costco. I thought about using vistaprint, but Costco ended up being easier, quicker and cheaper for me.

  • When Hudson was born, I designed them myself and then also printed off 5x7 photo cards from Costco. I will design them myself again this time around, but not sure what I am doing yet or where I will have them printed.?
