Hi, Ladies,
I want to introduce myself. I will be 36 this year; DH is 42. We have just started TTC. This is our second month of trying. The first month we just had sex to see if anything would happen. This month I purchased OV strips from CVS, and I think I was able to pinpoint my LH surge. The strip lines weren't totally the same color, but I think it was close enough. That was the day before yesterday. Today I have EWCM, so I think my interpretation of the strip was correct. Does anyone else use the CVS brand strips?
Also, I have a confession to make -- I might be too lazy to chart.
Would it be okay to try a few cycles first without charting, or do you guys think I really should be charting right away?
SIL got pregnant with her first child at 40, so I still feel young!
Thanks!
Re: Introduction and confession
Hi and welcome!
About the charting. To each their own of course. It takes about 15 seconds a day to temp and chart, so for me it's worth the effort.
I will tell you that I have seen many many people decide not to chart, and then later post that they were extremely regretful that they were still not KU and had no real idea about ovulation.
Others get BFP quickly and thus probably don't regtet it. (I would assume).
But up to you, like I said! So GL with whatever you choose!
Hi
Welcome to the board. As far as charting, my dr recommended charting for the first few months just to make sure I actually ovulate and to know exactly what's going on with my cycle. Just something to think about, but it's your call :-)
Welcome and good luck!
Welcome & Good Luck!
About charting... I agree with CathyMD, it really doesn't take long. I like knowing what is going on with my body (now that I know so much more).
GL whatever you decide!
Thank you, everyone! I started an account on FF, and I just purchased a BBT from CVS. I entered my first data online, and it didn't even hurt at all!
I guess I just got a little intimidated from looking at the charts, but the online inputting seems relatively painless. I am looking forward to my first fully charted cycle after my AF in a couple of weeks.
As for right now, I am pretty sure I am ovulating. My CVS OV strips looked like a positive, and I have EWCM and cramping today. I need to do some more BD'ing!
Welcome to a great board.
I agree with what some of the other ladies have said. Charting really doesn't take but a few seconds a day and fertility friend makes it super convenient. I pray you get your BFP super quick, but charting can get you one step closer to an answer by determining if you are O'ing and how you and DH are timing the BD if things don't happen as easily as you hope. I wish we had started charting earlier than we did.
Good luck with what ever you decide. We are all here to support each other regardless of the paths we take.
Welcome and good luck!
Ditto all the charting comments. As you can see, this board is rather pro-charting.
