If I had to give up ALL seafood for 9 months... I'm not sure you'd want to be around me.
I think most things are OK in moderation.
My Signature won't work! I am a proud mommy of two (1&3) and starting an adventure to help a family having a baby through surrogacy.

Imitation crab is just mashed up Pollock (white fish) with some natural binding agents to hold it together. It's not exactly health food, but it's fine.
Also - most crab has been cooked, even the not imitation kind (which isn't really crab, as the pp mentioned) and raw crab isn't recommended for *anyone.*
So enjoy!

From someone in the industry: imitation crab (krab) is made from surimi, which is essentially a fish paste made from pollock. It's no different than eating fish sticks or a McDonald's fish sandwich, really, there are just some binding agents (usually egg whites) and a small amount of sugar.
You can also eat Sushi!!:) this adorable little girl in my siggy is proof that it will not cause your child to grow fins.. or be sickly! she's perfect!
Ohh and lobster and even salmon!! Low mercury fish is fine to eat 2-3 times a week. You can eat Salmon every single day if you wanted to and you would still be fine.
Re: Imitation Crab Meat?
yes.
in moderation
(I would hope so, I had im. crab salad not too long ago and it was delish!)
