Is this bad?

So as of a few weeks ago DH and I work at the same place. We *could* travel the 40min commute together but we don't. We mostly use the excuse that if one of DDs get sick and we get a call from daycare then one of us has to leave but really, I don't want to because I like to listen to audiobooks on my commute. I used to LOVE to read but simply cannot find the time anymore so this is my only alternative. I look forward to it. DH drives a jeep cherokee aka gas guzzler so we could be saving $100/mo in gas not to mention being much more "green". I guess I could listen on my ipod but I feel like that would be rude. WWYD?

also, DD's are at daycre near home and not work.

Re: Is this bad?

  • I don't think it "bad" but if I could save $100 a month I would. That and I like all the extra time I can get with DH... he's schedule gets a bit crazy with work and his band gigs.

I couldn't justify that cost or the environmental impact, personally.  It sounds like it works for you though so who cares!

  • Ditto pp's. I couldn't justify the cost (not just gas but wear & tear), or the environmental impact. We drive sperately to work but DH works longer hours than me and I do the drop-off & pick-up so it make ssense for us.

I would carpool & just listen to my ipod if I were you.
