Downtown Dallas Question

I am going to be staying at the W this evening with my husband, and I was wondering if any of you could recommend a good restaurant in the area. Were not picky eaters at all, so were up to any sorts of food, just something nicer, not along the lines of a bar or deli.

Thanks!!!

Re: Downtown Dallas Question

  • Oooooo how fun!  We stayed there last fall for my birthday and it was WONDERFUL!  Victory Plaza has a bunch of very nice places to eat ... we chose to eat at Kenichi ... which is a Japanese restaurant on the same block.  It was really nice, and has a HUGE Saki menu :)

Next time we go, I want to eat at Craft, which is actually IN the W Hotel, and is one of Tom Colicchio's (ahem, Top Chef) restaurants.  Yum!  :)

There is also a nicer seafood/steak place and an Italian place as well, but I don't recall their names.  After we had dinner, we walked over to Victory Plaza and had gelato and watched a random sporting event on the huge screen tvs  :)  Have fun!!!

  • The only place I have actually personally eaten at down there (in Victory Park area) is Luna de Noche (Mexican/Tex-Mex), which I love. As Totty mentioned, there is also Craft, which is located inside the W Hotel and then Kenichi and Luna de Noche are both down the street from the hotel within walking distance. The Board Room is another restaurant down in that area, but I don't know much about it. You'll also be really close to Uptown, which has a TON of fabulous restaurants so it would be a really quick cab ride away.

    Here is the Uptown website...

Places in uptown that I have eaten at and would recommend:

Sambuca (American cuisine - love, love, love this place!)

    Dragonfly (American cuisine)

    Arcodoro / Pomodoro (Italian)

    Nick & Sam's (Steakhouse)

    Palomino (American cuisine)

    Avanti (Italian)
