bubble baths?

do you do bubble baths?  does the soap used for the bubbles rinse off?  is there a recommended age for them?

Re: bubble baths?

  • I was told not to regularly because of UTI risk for girls. So we avoid them.

  • Make sure the bubble bath is age appropriate.  Some bubble bathes can cause UTIs.  We use j&j lavendar bubble bath which is for babies.
  • DS takes a bubble bath every night. We use California Baby Bubble Bath- the Calming and Overtired and Cranky both smell fantastic!
  • I don't because I always got UTIs from them when I was little.

  • I've also heard that frequent bubble baths can cause UTIs in girls.  Sometimes I squeeze a little of DD's baby wash in the water to make some bubbles, but I don't do it very often.

  • well allright.  we will be skipping the bubble bath.  it's not like she is asking for it, so she doesn't know what she is missing.
  • Johnson and Johnson just came out with a new extra gentle bubble bath that is safe for daily use in boys AND girls (and clinically tested to NOT cause UTIs). The bubbles are actually a gentle body wash too. It doesn't create as many bubbles as a typical bubble bath would, but it's enough to make DD happy. We use it everytime DD gets a bath and have had no problems. I forget the specific name of the bubble bath, but it's in a blue bottle and says "new" on it.

California Baby also makes an ultrasensitive bubble bath, but I wasn't able to find it anywhere.

  • I've always used some of her baby wash as "bubble bath".........does that carry the same risk?
