which girl name do you like better?

DH and I have not been very diligent in searching out "the perfect name"...it's so hard! We want something that's not going to be on the top 20 list for the next 5 years, but we also want the name to be easily recognizable/readable. Which do you like better?

Eleanor Jane (would probably be Ellie or Nora for short)

I don't think "Denae" is very recognizable or readable.  I like both Lara and Eleanor, but I agree that Eleanor is very popular.

We though Lara Jane as a possible combination, but it seems too plain to me. And I feel like it would more easily be mis-pronounced as Laura Jane.

I love Lara, but that's my SILs name so I'm biased.  I don't think Denae is very recognizable or easily pronouncable though.  She's Lara Marie.

I also like Eleanor.

Definitely Eleanor Jane, but if you want it to not be popular, leave off either nickname, esp the nn Ellie. There are WAY too many. Three at my little neighborhood swim club under age 2, ranging from Eloise to just Ellie. That's not counting all of the Ellas I know.

But Eleanor is not that popular and is beautiful. It was on my list but I I'm having another boy.

Lara Denae is a double dose of How The Heck Do You Pronounce THAT.

Eleanor Jane is gorgeous. Classic as all hellll,easily recognizable/readable and just gorgeous.

The style of these names are so different! I really like them both. Of course I would use Jane Austen's version Elinor (Miss Dashwood) because I'm a big fan. And even this blog can't criticize this "you-neek" spelling due to who it was penned by! LOL
