Does anyone know a good, reasonably priced seamstress in the Harrisburg area, preferably West Shore?
I am in a wedding in August out on Long Island, I picked up the dress over the weekend while i was there for the shower. I did order it 3 sizes too big because I knew we were trying, I just tried it on and so long as I dont get huge it should be ok in the belly but the bust is huge and the bride wants the train cut off (why she didnt just order a dress without the train in the first place baffles me, since it adds on so much in alterations).
The place I found near me, Leaf of Eve, says that their hems start at $45, so I can imagine how much these alterations are going to cost.
Re: NBR: Seamstress
Wow, I used Leaf of Eve before and they weren't nearly that expensive.
I've done very well with a place in Chambersburg, but I'm sure you have no desire to drive that far.
I might call them back to see if they can give me a better idea of pricing, I'm worried, they say they start at $45, this dress also has layers of crinoline underneath, I might end up paying $100 just for the hem!
I very well might be willing to drive to chambersburg.
FWIW, Leaf of Eve did my alterations for a BM dress last month. It cost me $85 for a hem (2 layers), taking the top in a bit and shortening the straps an inch.
Quality work, but BOY was I not expecting to pay half the cost of the dress in alterations!
