TTC after 35

As of 1am today I am no longer PG:(

If you've seen my posts I recently got my BFP at 13dpo.  I took another test at 18dpo and the test was lighter than my 1st test so I kind of freaked out.  Then I read responses from others who that had happened to and then my nausea set in pretty strong...all day yucky feeling so I thought I must be ok.  Then last night I went to pee at 1am and to my horror....TMI warning........wiped and got lots of bright red blood.  I yelled out because I just didn't excpect it.  We are very sad.  I don't know what are plans are.  we know we are lucky to have our beautiful DD so that keeps me going:)  I get mad at myself...did I wait too long to TTC#2?  Are we too old?  So, I calledout sick today.  I am crampy and bleeding heavy.  Soooo sad.  I think I will keep DD home with me today:)

    I'm so sorry.
  • Thank you for all your support:)  My DH is very sick so he is home with me and I decided to let DD ditch preschool/daycare today.  She's been making me laugh all morning and drawing me pretty pictures.  She has no clue as to this PG and loss which is good.  I'm calling for a dr appt.  We may try again after we talk to someone.  We'll see.

    Baby dust to all....!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm really sorry to hear this and glad you took the day off of work.  Get lots of hugs in from your DD--the hugs I get from DS always brighten up my day.

  • This sounds exactly like what I went through last month.  I got a BFP at 12 DPO using a digital pregnancy test.  I called my OB and she scheduled an ultrasound at 6 weeks.  During this time, I had horrible cramping.  At 5 weeks, I began to spot.  I called the nurse, but she did not call back.  Around noon, I began to actually have a flow.  I called the nurse again crying.  They had me come in to do blood work and an ultrasound.  My levels came back normal.  My OB said I had a "chemical pregnancy."  She said the egg was fertilized but did not implant correctly.  She said it is not considered a pregnancy (although from those I have spoken to and looking online, it is considered an early miscarriage).  She said if I had taken a regular pregnancy test (not digital) the lines should get darker- not lighter.  She gave me the okay to try again immediatly and said that the blood flow is actually my period.  She also told me that when I get another BFP, she wants me to come in for blood work.  I had HORRIBLE cramps for that day, then was okay.  Right now, I am awaiting AF.  Took a pregnancy test today and it was negative.  I am curious if the chemical pregnancy messed up my LP.  I have been using the digital ovulation kit so I am positive I ovulated this month (right on time too).  I am sure your OB will give you some answers.  I am so sorry.
