I don't have strong opinions about this in either direction but I would love for someone to show some real research demonstrating that our high infant mortality rate is actually related to birthing in hospitals vs homes or other birthing sites, other than the fact that babies are born much much earlier than in the past & kept alive for periods of time because of the newer technology. I don't think home birth/birthing centers have a hand in that, as I am pretty sure most home birth attendants would not attempt preterm deliveries, therefore they all go to hospitals.?
