Can we get a police escort? DH is going to urgent care.

He came up to our room grunting, sighing and moaning (he's had a head cold for a few days) asking where the nearest urgent care is.  "I have so much pressure and my teeth are numb."  I found one for him a couple miles away.

So he lay on the bed, more grunting, sighing and moaning and said, "maybe I'll wait for the ibuprofen to kick in."  We've not been getting along very well lately so I was a *** to him.  I told him to either suck it up and shut up, or just effing GO.

I imagine he'll come home with meds--I mean, how do you really diagnose a sinus infection?  So in his eyes his grunting, sighing and moaning will be justified.

I get so damn annoyed because when he gets sick, of course he needs to rest and I pick up the slack.  When I get sick (which I have at least twice a month since February, taking care of a baby who gets sick as often), I.get.nothing.  I do everything I always do.  No extra rest, no, "would you like me to get you something, honey?"

And for it to happen now is icing on the cake--we've been fighting for a few weeks about expectations between the two of us.

I'm so angry.

  • I hear you. ?My husband's legs got sunburned this week at the beach and you would think he was peeling skin down to the bone the way he's wimpering about it. ?
  • I think all men are big fat babies when it comes to stuff like this.  Sorry you've been fighting-it probably makes it all the more infuriating.

  • I kid you not, my DH thought he might throw his back out from sneezing.  He has MINOR allergies and sneezed 3x in a row and made a comment about needing to be careful of his back. For background -  he has no back issues and has never had any.

    they are all wimps

  • Men suck when they're sick.
  • And he just called to ask whether he should get his prescription for Amox filled at Walgreens or CVS?  Really?!?  REALLY?!?  I couldn't effing care less!  CVS is on one side of the road, Walgreens on the other...seriously across the street from each other.  I know he wants to rub it in my face, but that can't wait until he gets home.

I'll have tea for you and I'll fluff your favorite spot on the couch so it's all ready to go when you get here.

(The best part is that his mom is out of town until August.  She'd probably be here tomorrow waiting on him hand and foot, holding him, rocking him back and forth and awww-ing at him.  Did I mention we aren't getting along right now?  Yes, I'm a b ! tch--he gets nothing from me.  Nothing.)

    This is hilarious!

  • oh, true_norskie, i'm sorry but this is cracking me up.  my dh can be the same way and i get no special treatment whatsoever AND if his mother could, she would be waiting on him hand and foot too.

as for the amox - at least you can say he should have no excuse for not feeling well b/c the rx should heal him right up!

good luck with everything.  it sucks to fight period.
