I know it's perfectly normal according to the ped...but my baby hasn't pooped in a week. She's ebf...I've eaten fruits veggies...even cauliflower. Today I know she's uncomfortable. Fussy, squirmy...poor kid!
I read on web md that I can give an ounce of prune juice with 2 ounces of water....would you resort to this yet? It's her first food not from mommy....so I'm kind of nervous about it.
Re: A poo poo question...
Reread post, never mind...
Prune juice did nothing for my lo other than give her horrible gas so I stopped doing it.
Is she uncomfortable? If not then leave her alone, she'll go when she's ready. I miss the days when my lo only pooped every 5-6 days. WIth solids she's back to at least once a day if not more.
If she is uncomfortable ask your pedi about a suppository. It was the only thing that worked for my dd when she was having a hard time getting it out and was uncomfortable from not going.
My pedi said to call if LO gets noticably uncomfortable. To me a week is a little long. I would call and ask about the prune juice and they may want to see her if its been that long. GL! Call soon and find out so you can get your LO a little relief.
Also, a little trick. It sounds mean, but it works most of the times I've tried it. Take a rectal temp and will stimulate it and get it going. Just have a diaper underneath and a towel. GL!
