HUGE NEWS! We were picked by a birth mom!!!!!
We found out yesterday morning that we were picked by a birth mom. She is due soon...September!
We don't know a lot of details yet, but we are going to meet with the director of our agency this afternoon. Then we'll meet the expectant mom next week!
Our heads are spinning - we barely slept - I can't keep a thought straight in my head! We are SO EXCITED!
We'll know more later on, but I just wanted to share. I don't even know what to ask, what to say....I'll take any advice if you have any!

I'm trying to think of advice on what kinds of questions to ask. When we were picked (or considering H's case) I asked a lot about his siblings and the circumstances around him being given up for adoption. Anything they know about his prenatal care and health. Family history. What kind of adoption she wants.?
You don't have to ask all of those! Just ideas. We didn't get some of the answers until the day before or even after he was born. ?
Jacks - we finished our profile/homestudy in December. It's been 6 months and two weeks! Our caseworker said she can't believe how fast this happened...we were told it could be up to 2 years!
I guess so! I am waiting until I know more info and then I'm going to tell my boss and coworkers...I'm posting this here, but not on my blog or on FB just yet, you know?

Our meeting went really well - I still have to call our family and let them know!
We signed our initial paperwork,so things are getting started....
We'll meet the expectant mom next week on Thursday...how am I going to get through until then???
