I was just reading the post below about waxing and the MSN article when I received my usual weekly newsletter from the hospital I'm delivering at. The newsletter this week had an article about hair removal and how it's not recommended at this stage of the game. Here's what it said:
No need to shave
If you are in the habit of shaving your pubic hair, or near it, it is recommended that you give it a break at this point until after your baby is born. If a cesarean section is required, or any other procedure that might require hair removal, the removal should be done at that time according to the hospital's policies and procedures. Other hair removal techniques can traumatize the skin and lead to infections.
Interesting!
Re: Grooming/waxing "down there"
My OB said the same thing.
But i dont want to be hairy
Boo...
Trimming is fine, as said by my OB... but shaving and waxing is what they want you to avoid. You are more prone to infection late in pregnancy, and there are a lot of germs that can live on that area of skin, not to mention on your razor, etc.
Trimming seems to be working out just fine for me. I can't see down there anymore anyhow... LOL
