Tips on making Formula

We have always used the concentrate formula but DH and I want to try the powder type again with DD.  When we tried it 3 yrs ago with DS, we found that there were always powder chucks in the bottle after mixing.  I've asked around and it seems like only a few other people have had this same problem. 

So is there a secret to getting the powder to mix into the water smoothly and evenly?  Does water temperature make a difference?

    I usually mixed the powder in warm water as it blends better and you get less chunks

    We also use a little warmer water.  It mixes so much better.

    I used room temp water and just shook the hell out of it. Lots of bubbles.

    However, it constipated my LO, so we are back to concentrate. Just a warning.
