I want to ask again. What do you think of the name Mila (it's pronounced Me-la)? And more importantly, I know that they look similar when written, but do Miles and Mila (again, Me-la) sound too close to use Mila for a girl?
I LOVE the name but unfortunately it is very close to Miles (another name I love btw!!). So that's a tough one for me. I would also think your third LO may feel left out because his so different..........
I love, love, love the name Mila. It's one of my favorites (and every Mila I know is a fabulous person).
I also love the name Miles. Why is it important whether or not they sound too close? (not being sarcastic, I really am wondering....)
I'm not really sure to be honest. It just nags at me for some reason. My husband said the same thing because Mila is one of the very few girl names that we both like.
Well if you introduce your kids in birth order, you'll never have to say their names next to each other
?I know many people who have named their children similarly to someone else in the family (i.e. Laura named her daughter Lauren; two brothers named David & Daniel...) I think you should go with the name you love. The good thing is that the i in Miles and the i in Mila make different sounds, so it's not like you're going to call out one of their names and they'll both come running...?
Mila looks like Mila, pronounced Me-la. Miles looks like Miles, pronounced like, well, miles.
I don't see why anyone would find this complicated, unless they've lived under a rock. Mila is not a terribly strange or uncommon name. And for the record, I like it.?

I don't know why people are always concerned about names sounding too similar. Each child is going to have their own individuality despite their names. Three of my siblings are named Mary, Mark and Marlene. The other 3 of us are not 'm' names though. I never thought about their names sounding similar and neither will anyone about your kids. If you like Mila go for it!
LOVE Mila. And I don't think it's confusing to pronounce...Of course, you will run across people who have never heard the name before, so they won't know how to pronounce it, but that's par for the course when you select a beautiful name that is not uber-popular. Go for it!

Yes, it's beautiful with it's proper pronunciation- I'm surprised so many people are unfamiliar with it. It's a variation of Emilia, and if you think Mila is too close to Miles (they're lightyears apart in pronunciation, I can only see it being a problem when they're written), perhaps think about Emilia as a full name, with Mila as a nickname.
Mina is nice, too, and similar.
You live in Florida. In the Midwest, with a smaller percentage of Hispanics in the population, I've never, ever heard of the name Mila pronounced Mee-la. And I don't live under a rock, unless you consider the Midwest a rock, that is!

Miles and Mila sound like perfect twin names!!!
