Re: opinions please....

  • Trey is NMS. I love Alexander. One of my favs
  • Honestly?  Brodie/Brody is really popular in my area + every Brody I've known/met has been a jerk.  Sad  Michael's fine, but it's been one of the most popular boys' names for like - ever!  So....I dunno, not really my style...sorry!

  • I love Alexander. Trey is really cute as well, but I like it more a nickname than as a formal first name (although it could be because the one Trey I have known was a jerk!).

One of my preschoolers last year had a little brother who was John LastName III and they called him Trey for a nickname. I think it's adorable that way!

  • I have never thought of Trey as a legal first name.  I have only ever heard it used as a nickname for a 'III" - ie. the real name is John Parker Smith III but he goes by Trey.

It just seems odd to me.

How about Trent Alexander?  Or Troy?

  • I have a 19 year old nephew named Trey...I like it :)

Trey is used often around these parts as a nickname for boys/men who are IIIs.  So whenever I hear that name, I think it's a nickname that just refers to the fact that whatever his legal name is, he's the third to bear it.

  • trey alexander doesn't flow well. i think you should use a 2 syllable fn with alexander and make sure it doesn't end with a vowel sound. otherwise, i like alexander for a fn.

This. To me it's like naming a kid "Junior" or "Chip."
