I'm 95% sure I'm in labor.

Woke up at 3:30 with a pretty intense contraction and completely drenched in sweat. Had another contraction eight minutes later, then another 7 minutes later.

Have since moved around and taken a shower and they haven't gone away (but also haven't gotten any closer together). I also had what I'm pretty sure was my bloody show - completely different-looking than any previous MP or discharge.

Brian's up and in the shower and we're just hanging around the house timing them until they get closer. Today is his birthday!

So, trying not to get too excited but this is absolutely different than anything I've experienced so far. And I'm now convinced that no one goes into labor in the middle of the day.

I'll try to keep you posted until we leave (if we leave) for the hospital!

ETA - it's now 7:30 a.m. and my contractions have slowed down significantly. I haven't had one in 25+ minutes. I'm totally discouraged. We totally thought - knew, even - that this was it.

Oh yay Lauren!!!!  I knew there must be a reason that I'm awake this early!  Many prayers for a speedy and healthy delivery!!  I'm so excited for you!

Of course, right after I typed that update, I had another contraction. Dumb. This game is stupid - I give up.

crap! i have trouble responding via my phone! dammit! my contractions did the same thing - hard and *almost* close enought but not quite. then they would stop. start again, closer together but not as intense.come on baby e, give daddy a great b-day present! ETA: it took me 3 times to post this! grrrrrrrrr!

Darn that the contractions slowed back down, but it sounds like hopefully you're still close and could still deliver this weekend!  Def making progress!

Well, regardless, I'm encouraged by the fact that this is happening on its own before my scheduled induction on Monday morning. Even if I don't give birth before Monday, maybe this all means that I'll require less pitocin and less intervention overall...

Yep!

If it makes you feel better, I think I delivered within a couple of days from the time I had contractions like you're describing (start to feel the contractions, some fairly close together although still somewhat erratic.)

You're in labor!!!  Even though it's slowing down, this is the start!!  Start walking, having relations (I'm at work, sorry, haha), and do some relaxation.  I wouldn't be surprised if things didn't pick up her e in a few hours
