Sweetness

We returned yesterday from a week in Hawaii. One of the things we did while there was go visit Pearl Harbor. That was very difficult with a two year old, as they insist on total silence while out on the USS Arizona site. All in all, it was a very stressful historical attraction for me and not what I had imagined the visit would be.

But... before they take you out to the Arizona Memorial, they have you sit through a 15 minute movie. Babytaffy and I sat on the stairs on the floor in the movie theater, so that I could more easily contain him and keep him from distracting others. A little Japanese boy and his father were sitting a few feet away. As the movie showed a Japanese bomber getting ready to take flight and the subsequent attack, my little boy and his new friend began holding hands and giggling to one another with their backs to the screen. I did my best to capture it with my camera, but due to the lighting in the theater it didn't turn out. But I think I'll remember that moment in my mind forever. How far we've come...
