What is a "water test"?

last month when AF arrived it was much more heavy than usual (and I've always had heavy periods) I thought maybe it was because i took prometrium and estradial the week before AF to "build up" uterine lining.  When I told RE, he said if it happened again he would do water test before next iui to check for fibroids, etc.  Anyone ever hear of this?  BTW what is a saline sono? Thanks

It's a sonohysterogram (SHG).  Same as the saline sono.

I assume he's referring to the saline hysterogram (SGH).  It's not comfortable but way easier than an hydrosalpingogram (HSG).

For a saline sono, the dr inserts a small catheter and fills your uterus with saline so that he can examine it. It sounds bad but honestly was only a little worse than a pap.

Ditto everyone else. I need to get one next cycle too (if things don't work out for us this cycle) to check for a fibroid they thought they found in an u/s.
