soooo jealous you are going to philly!  my bff lives just outside of philly. the first time we visited we did the statue of liberty, independence hall, betsy ross home, ben franklins grave and all that touristy stuff.

as far as the cheesesteaks -- hit up Pat's  and Geno's.  they are catty-corner from each other. both are pretty yummy and pretty famous cheesesteak joints. who knows, you might even see a musician, actor/actress while you're there.

if you're looking for something else to do, check out eastern state penitentiary.  it is really cool

Thanks Denisa!  I'm really excited.  They have 2 little girls who I'm really close to because they stay at my parents' house every Thanksgiving.  The youngest one who's now I think 7 tells everyone we're best friends. 

 I think those might be the 2 cheesesteak places they take people to do the the taste test--one has cheese whiz, right?

they both have cheese whiz if i remember correctly.

first time we went, my kid was 11 or 12. he wanted to go to pat's and geno's because he had seen them on the food network

I guess I'll find out soon enough!  The ones they take people too I think one has cheese whiz and the other provolone maybe?  One week from today I'll be there!
