mn for Alayna

My hubby and I have really grown to LOVE the name Alayna and have even started to call her this! So unless a new name hits us, looks like we are set!The dillema is now the MN! My grandma passed away in November and I really wanted to honor her. Her name was Alba Lillian. So, I was thinking:
Alayna Lillian- hubby's not too hot on the mn :o(
Alayna Emma - g-ma's mom's name, a name she loved
Alayna Emmalee/Emily- to honor Emma as well, just not sure of spelling??
Alayna Faythe- mom's mn is Faye and I like the sound/meaningAny thoughts? Don't want to use Alba for obvious reasons...figure Alayna already uses first 2 letters and last letter of her name.My other daughters (7 year-old twins) are Amaya Nicole and Bryanna ElliseTHANKS!!

Re: mn for Alayna

  • Out of the choices, I like Alayna Emily the best.
    Blank!
  • My cousing just named her daughter Alayna Marie. I think it sounds pretty. Out of your list I like Alayna Lillian.

  • cute- my mn was Marie growing up too, dropped it after I got married- could work...luckily I have almost 17 more weeks to decide!

I like Emily & Faythe! Faythe is on our list also in honor of my grandmother named Faye!
  • I love the name Faythe spelled that way- always have even though SO many people tell me to spell it Faith. I think that when honoring someone named Faye, it makes even more sense!

BTW- Emily Faythe sounds cute together

  • Alayna Faythe is my favorite out of your ideas.  I also think that just Alayna Faye sounds wonderful (and maybe flows easier than Faythe).  Another just off the top of my head is Alayna Renee - it popped in my head and I just like it :)

Alayna is beautiful.  Emmalee is a horrible spelling, as it Faythe, which has the added ick factor of having a Y that looks 'made up' next to the Y in Alayna.  Go with Alayna Faye or Alayna Faith.   The dillema is now the MN! • I like Alayna Emma. I don't see how Emily honors Emma. It's not the same name. Just use Emma. It's a very pretty name and sounds nice with Alayna. Lillian is also nice.
  • I love Alayna Faythe. I think that spelling is unique and most of all sentimental to you.  I think the name flows well with your other two daughters!
  • Does it matter that our last name is WOOD.?..only one syllable- may affect how all names flow together!
  • *I* wanted Alaina Grace but in order to "sell" the name to DH I paired it (I thought) temporarily with 'Skye' because he had suggested Skylar as a FN many times prior. Turns out he LOVED it and I got the FN I wanted. When I tried to pull a fast one and then try for Grace as a middle, he was too in love with Alaina Skye.

So I let it go and now I love it :)
