Can you freeze french toast?

The batch I made for breakfast made a whole lot more than I thought it would, and I've got 6 pieces left.  Has anyone tried freezing it before?  Does it turn out well?  How does one reheat it?

Re: Can you freeze french toast?

  • I would think it would be ok. You can freeze pancakes and bread so french toast, why not? I reheat pancakes in the microwave or in the oven I would guess french toast would be the same?

  • I think so. I actually do buy DD the already made frozen kind and she loves it.

  • Yes, because I buy it frozen at Trader Joes and that is what DD eats. I'm sure it will be ok. We just put each piece in the microwave for about 30-40 seconds to heat up.

  • yes.  Just pop it in the toaster when you want it next time.  I freeze it all the time.
  • Yup!  I make about 6 slices at a time and cut them in half and freeze them.  Then just pop them in the toaster and they are ready to go.  DD loves it!
