Did you/are you having a hard time coming up with names because of all the names that you encounter while teaching?  My friend and her H are both teachers and had a VERY hard time deciding on names because every name that one of them suggested, the other thought of a student they had taught (and had bad memories of) so had to veto the name. 

We haven't started talking about names yet, but I'm worried we are going to run into the same problem.  Maybe we should have decided on names before deciding to have children! J/K

Ditto... my husband and I are both teacher and it was hard...but we did it!!

Yes- I had that problem. Luckily I have a community that uses a lot of "uneek" spellings and names. So I were able to come up with a few options.

Same problem here- especially w/ boys names these past few names. Hubby kept suggesting names and I was like- NO WAY! Luckily we are having a girl. I looked for names  that were up in the 200+ spots on the SS list.  My twins are Amaya (never taught one though a few Maya s have or are coming)...her twin sister is Bryanna...never encountered that spelling. So for this one we are likely going w/ Alayna- never had one in 11 yrs so I think it' safe enough!

Not a teacher, but a social worker, so I still meet tons of kids. And I really do have a hard time thinking of considering a name of a kid that was abused, no matter how much I like it.?

Luckily I've only been teaching my own class for 2 years... but I have lots of kids to associate names with.  I do it from when I was in school too.  I do know it's helped me see which names I will definitely NEVER use.

I see the names that are WAAAAAAY overused.  Especially girls.  Haylee/Haley.  Goodness gracious I have one or two every year.
