I just visited a friend who had her baby last night. She ended up having an emergency c-section because the baby's heartrate dropped below 50.

Her Dr used staples to close her wound. If you have had a c-section, is this what your dr used?

I think it depends on the doctor. On the overly-dramatized tv baby stories, I have seen both used. Staples are quicker to put in though.

Yes, I had staples that were removed on the last day in the hospital.  The scar is a very thin, but slightly raised line, well below my bikini line.

I had a c-section and had staples. It wasn't bad. I healed very quickly and the scare looks good. If you go to 3rd tri. a girl posted her c-section pic.

My doctor used staples and the scar is barely visible.

I had a scheduled C-section, and they did use staples to close the incision.  They take them out before you leave the hospital, though, and put steri-strips on.  It doesn't hurt at all when they take them out- I didn't even feel it.

My doctor prefers Dermabond for prettier scars, that's what I had (with dissolvable stitches inside, of course). My scar is barely visible now, 23m later- it was great.

This is exactly what I am talking about. My husband sells Dermabond and I knw that it is a superior product. Did you discuss this with your Dr prior to surgery?

 I want to make sure this is what happens in the event that I have to have a c-section.

My Dr. used sutures, no staples. Most of the Dr's I have worked with do use staples. They both heal pretty similar. My scar is barely visible.
