Two Under 2

Goldilocks car question...

What kind of car do you drive with 2 kids- or are planning to drive with 2?

Is it too small, too big, or  just right?

I drive a Rav 4 and I still sit in back most of the time when both DH and I are in it because I'm so squished in the passenger seat with dd's rear facing carseat- I'm thinking I may have to go a little bigger, but I don't want anything too big.  I like being able to parallel park. :-)

We will continue to drive our Trailblazer once #2 arrives. ?There is enough space that neither the driver's or passenger's seat will need to be pushed too far forward. ?We wont, however, be able to put anyone else in the back seat with them. ?But, cargo space is fantastic. ?We love our TB. ?We are considering selling it just because it is getting on in years. ?If we do, we plan to buy a Saturn Outlook with the third row of seats (and the captain's chairs in the second row, not the bench).

Oh, and two things I love about our TB: ?despite it's larger size, 1. it turns on a freaking dime so flipping u-turns is a breeze, and 2. even spastic little ol' me can parallel park it without any issues.

  • We currently drive a Murano. However it is a lease and the lease will be up in December so we may get something with third row seating, like a Pilot, since we'll most likely still be driving that car if we have 3 kids.

  • I drive a Tahoe and I LOVE it!  I can fit both kids in the second row plus one passenger if needed and we have a removable third row so if we need to have more seats we have them and if we need more cargo room we take them out.  I have 2 big dogs so it makes taking trips with them and the kids easy. It's also not that hard to parallel park and I love being up so high when I drive.
  • I really don't want another car, I like my PT Cruiser.

My vote would be to look at different car seats that might take up less space. DD is still RFing in an Evenflo triumph (which is a huge seat, but still takes up no more legroom than a graco snugride), but I knew that a snugride wouldn't quite fit behind the drivers seat. But a Baby Trend Flexloc will fit there!

If it hadn't fit I would have gotten a Cosco Scenera for DD to ride in behind the driver seat - that's what we have in DH's Corolla and it takes up much less room.
