Enfamil AR vs Similac RS?

For those of you whose LO's have reflux...did you find that these formulas improved their symptoms?  Which did you like better (and why)?  We are trying to lessen DS's spitting up and we are hoping that one of these formulas may do the trick.

TIA!

  • Maybe I am paranoid but I call the advice nurse or Dr before switching DS formula.  You should give yours a call and see what he/she rec.

  • I did...they said to use either.  But, I wondered if other Mom's preferred one over the other for any reason.
  • Gotcha.  I wish I could help.  We are having our own issues with formula.  We have been on 5 different ones!!!!  It sucks!  I haven't tried either of those though.

  • We are also in formula hell.  I had been BF'ing, but he was having such bad reflux that we have had to try Alimentum (the doc thought maybe a milk allergy), Similac Sensitive, and NOW he wants us to try one of these thickened formula.  I never thought feeding a baby would be so difficult!
  • My LO does not have reflux, but I almost switched to Sensitive RS yesterday because the spitting up was getting ridiculous! But I tried some different bottles first, and it worked! We went from Dr. Brown, to Avent, to Playtex VentAire, and he has spit up soooooooooooo much less with the Playtex. Hardly any at all. It uses a faster nipple flow which I heard helps with spit up. I am gonna try a level 2 with my Dr. Brown's as well to see if it helps with the spit up. If not, I am going out to buy lots more Playtex! Good luck!
