transition to a new daycare

Hi,

I'm considering switching daycare providers and was wondering what I may expect. DD will be 9 months old if/when we make the switch. She's a very happy and easygoing baby- but at 9 months I'm concerned that it may be difficult for her to asdjust to a change. She goes to daycare 2 days/wk now and that would continue. Thanks for any advice you have.

She'll probably adjust with relative ease at that age.  Separation anxiety usually hasn't really started by then, and they're very easily adaptable.

We just switched 16 month old DD this week to a new center.  The transition is harder on me than it is on her, as I LOVE her old teachers.  I'm sure I'll like the new ones just as much, but it's harder on me.  We spent some time with them on Monday afternoon (me, DH, and DD) so that she could get used to the teachers and kids.  She's been doing great!

  • We just did this at the beginning of last week and it went very well.  However, we had some issues with his old one so there were no regrets on our part.  His new daycare seems so involved with the kids and loving and caring towards them and it makes me feel that much better.  DS is younger than your child though but I would think at that point the would still be fairly easy to make the transition.
