stupid question

So today at work (i work in a small office with one guy, and six females) one of the ladies comes up to me and the other new girl and asks who made her early?  I was like, wtf are you talking about?  Well, her period showed up a week early, and she wanted to know who she was syncing up with.  Another girl said she was just finishing her period.  And I just got mine on saturday, two days shorter then my other LP's.  So my stupid question is:

Cycles can sync up, but can it make an LP shorter?  I thought it would make you O earlier/later to change it?  yes? no?

Sorry, just looking for an explantion why AF came early.

Well, Ive been there three months... so its not exactly over night.  I thought it was weird too.  Even weirder?  Telling everyone at work your on your period.

I dunno... I guess I just always had it in my head that it would take years.

Regarding telling work... yes, that is weird.  I cannot imagine doing that.

I have been curious about this, too.  We put an apartment in our house above our garage and another couple has moved in, to help us both save $ right now since things are tight.  She is on BCP, so her cycle isn't moving, but I wonder if that is why I was 2 days early this month.  I hope it doesn't shorten the LP, but makes you O early.  If so, maybe that's why I didn't get KU this month - our timing would have been a little off.

When I lived in a dorm for university, by the end of the year, we were all pretty much right around the same time, cycle wise, whether we were on BCP's or not.  So yes, people can sync up, but I would have thought it would be with people you spend lots and lots of time with, not just work with.  I guess it depends on how much time you spend with them...

I've always wondered this too. I mean, I've had it happen to me plenty of times, so I know it DOES happen, but HOW does it happen? Do we like smell each other's pheromones or something? Do you ovulate later/earlier or does the LP just shorten/lengthen?
