Deco Help please

Our bedroom set is similar in color to this photo and we're going to paint the walls an almost identical color to what's in the photo. My question is, would you go with white bedding or tan?

I'm thinking about this bedding in either a tan or white

or this with a tan blanket on the foot of the bed

But I'm open to suggestions!

Re: Deco Help please

  • The sensible me says to go with tan so stains aren't as apparent & you don't have to wash as often ....

...but the insensible me (which usually wins) says white because it would be a pretty contrast against the furniture (even better if you have white trim like in the photo).  I esp like the 2nd photo you posted, w/ a tan blanket at the foot of the bed. The comforter looks heavenly!

fwiw, we have a white duvet cover and I like it ... but we've only had it since October and I'm seeing stains.  What a pain in the but to worry about drycleaning so often.... but it's pretty :)

  • Love that!

I agree that if you have white trim that white would look really nice but white bedding is a huge PITA.  I think the tan bedding would look great and then you wouldn't have to deal with the marks on the white.

  • thanks girls, I realize it can go either way. DH thinks tan is better and I think white is better and would agree that if we had white trim it would look best. That being said, we don't and DH refuses to paint the trim in the house since we're not staying there forever so maybe I'll go with the tan!

  • See, I have a white comforter and love it.  I don't have any problems with stains and am able to wash it in my now bigger washing machine.  I think that the white would look the best and I would be concerned with the tan being too late.  I think if you went with a darker tan, almost like a brown sugar color, that it would look great.
  • my only concern with white is that we have a little shihtzu that sleeps on the foot of the bed every night. He's usually pretty clean so I'm not that concerned, but yes I've found something a little more brown sugary in color!

  • Definitely tan, especially with a baby on the way.  Baby spit up blends nicely with tan.  ;)
  • I like the white in the 1st bedding you posted!  I wouldn't worry about stains...I have no trouble getting them out with spray and wash...and white isn't that much lighter than tan!
  • i think i would go with something a little darker than tan too
  • One of my friends redid her bedroom and the walls are about your color.  She found a pretty chocolate brown bedding textured solid set similar to the one you posted (think it was more satin-like though) at stein-mart with pillows that are brown and cyan/aqua.
