Babies on the Brain

I know the answer to this question but am asking anyway

I will explain once I get some responses.

Vasectomy(sp?) Reversable?

Tying your tubes? Reversable?

Re: I know the answer to this question but am asking anyway

  • 1. Yes

    2. I don't think so.?

  • Loading the player...
  • Vasectomy - I believe yes

Tubes - I want to say no...but not sure.

  • Yes and yes. both can be reversed.
  • Both reversable.  There is a new tubal which is called ESSURE, where they put coils in your tubes and your tubes make scar tissue around them to block the tubes.  This is pretty popular now and a lot of practices are doing it exclusively.  It is NOT reversable.
  • PS, reversal doesn't always work.

  • 1. Usually

    2. No. Tubal Ligation entails cauterization and an end to the fallopian tubes, they will no longer lead to the uterus, they will be a dead end.

It can be done, here is a link to how:

Thanks ladies! I asked because DH an I had this argument last night and I was trying to inform him that him getting the snip snip would be not only easier but the only reversable procedure.

I did read several articles about reverssal of tubal litigation, but like Steph said they are mostly not.

  • I have seen plenty of pregnant ladies walking around after having a tubal reversed.  I have also seen plenty of "infertility" patients who have had tubals, or the husbands have had vasectomies.

I still vote for your H to get the snip though.
