Glow Worm vs. Soothe & Glow Seahorse- which is better

Between the 2 which one plays longer? Which one is easier for a 8 month old to turn on? Right now we have the sound spa and I'm sick of it not working half the time.  DS is a great sleeper (he sleeps 12 hours at night) but I'm just concerned he'll wake up in the middle of the night and be scared in the dark (I know I can get a night light but I'm looking for something more comforting).  So I thought what about this (clearly I think at this point its more for me then him).  I see the Seahorse works for 5 minutes and then starts to fade.  What about the Glow worm?

Re: Glow Worm vs. Soothe & Glow Seahorse- which is better

  • The Glow Worm has a couple different options. We have it set to the one where it turns off after each song, because she loves starting it over and over again.  It is very easy to turn on.

  • The seahorse plays much longer but I think the music sounds like organ music.  The gloworm plays the typical lullabies but only lasts for 5 seconds. We do have the Fisher Price aquarium and there are many nights where I hear that playing and then she is back asleep so I would recommend that one.  But back to your original question, I prefer the worm but the horse does play a lot longer.  C prefers the worm too.
  • I've "heard" better things about the Fisher Price Seahorse (i.e., on here, and probably in the Amazon reviews).  I have it, but I can't tell you my 9 month old has a clue how to turn it on.  She loves to flip it around, but she's never "hugged" it to turn it on.  It's great, though...lasts about 5-7 minutes, and the music & water noises make ME sleepy.

Where is the settings for it to keep playing??  I have searched and can only find the on/off switch?

Is the aquarium something they can turn on themselves?  Silly question- but do they have to hug the Seahorse for it to work?  I know these seem like stupid questions but I live in a very rural area- about an hour from a store so I generally order stuff online so I never get to see it and test it.

  • I have both and I prefer the seahorse because it plays for so much longer than the glowworm, but now reading the other post I am wondering if I am missing something.. hmmmm

ds can turn on the seahorse. he mainly rolls or steps on it
  • The seahorse is awesome. DS smushes its belly to turn it on, has been able to turn it on since he was around 7 months. I love that thing! Its cuter that a worm, too, haha!
  • DJ loves his seahorse and has been able to turn it on for a few months
  • The glow worm has a demo option.  That is the one that plays a short song and the light goes off before the song is over.  The on/off switch (under the flap in the back) has a third option.  In this mode, the worm plays the entire song and the light doesn't go off until the song is over.  AND when it goes off, the light fades...We recently discovered this mode.  Honestly, DD enjoys the demo mode more.
