What do you do when DC, keeps doing a no-no?

DS loves to stand at the tv stand and bang on the tv, he knows he's not supposed to.  We always say NO very firmly and remove him from it, but he just goes and does it again.  Now when we say NO he does it faster and harder, when we stand up or move toward him to grab him he drops down and moves away from it usually while laughing.  What do you do when your DC does something like this?  Or what would you do?

I just remove her from it...over and over and over again...its exhausting but I don't really know what other option there is.  Welcome to having a toddler maybe? Sorry I am not much help

I usually try to distract him to something else, but when that doesn't work I either 1. Hold his arms down and say "We don't....whatever the behavior is" or 2. Put him in timout for 1 minute.  I have only done timeout 2 or 3 times total.  I thought he would just get up and walk away, but he actually stayed there.  I don't know if he really understood the time out concept, but it gets him in the habit if it now.

M's new thing is trying to unplug the computer.  She does it to get my attention.  So, I figure she is needing attention then and I give it to her.  Usually I will take her to another part of the room and sit with some toys or books for a while.

I'm big on prevention because  I've noticed DD feed on the attention/reaction I give when she's doing something like this.  When DD is awake, our ottoman is in front of the tv to keep her away! :0  I'm a teacher and am struggling with this as I was always taught whatever behavior you reinforce is most likely to be repeated.  Kinda hard to put into practice, but I believe it's most effective to prevent opportunities and reinforce good behavior when at all possible.

My friends put a superyard around the TV, so their DS couldn't reach it. 

If saying "no" and moving DD away from something isn't working, I remove the temptation.  I agree with the pp's that the more of a reaction he gets out of you, the more he'll do it.  Good luck!
