Is this your dog or a neighbors? It could be that the dog is thirsty or bored. You could give it some water and a large chew bone. I have heard that is what animal control will do in the summers.
they have plenty of water and chew toys. when we leave we are putting the dogs in the backyard and she barks. allthefuckingtime.
how do I help her become a non barkingallthefuckingtimedog?

My BIL/SIL just got one of their dogs a bark collar that sprays a lemon scent whenever they bark (so no shocking involved). I guess it is working really well. I think they got it at Petsmart.
Is there a reason for the barking? Distraction and praise is always my most useful tool when Huxley is barking. But if it's constant, I am not sure.
tis constant. constant constant. Lord, I am going to go batshitcrazy.

Being that my DH works at a natural food store, we use a lot of supplements. We use Rescue Remedy for our dogs. It won't make him stop barking completely, but it will help keep your dog calmer and less likely to bark. (Possibly....) The citronella collars didn't work for our dogs.

I second the citronella collar. It worked for us. When ever one of ours starts to bark again like they used to (constant, all day, nothing wrong just enjoying hearing themselves) wejust pull out the collar and they hush.

When our neighbor's dog barks, DH yells the dog's name from our backyard and that usually shuts him up.
Oh, it's your dog, sorry
I've heard that 'problem solving toys' work well to keep the dog busy. They're the ones that have a little compartment to hide a treat or some peanut butter (obviously for outside only) and it entertains the dog while they try to get it out.
when mine bark I surprise them by making a loud noise (clap, yell name, etc), then give them a command like "sit" to follow. Then they get praise for doing the good thing. Both of my inside dogs need a ton of attention to keep them happy. Luckily they get some of that attention from each other!
Shock collars are the only things that will make ours be quiet. Honestly you don't have to shock them much. They have a vibration on them that makes it feel like they are going to be shocked every time they bark. But it doesn't. Its just a warning.

This. My dogs are barkers. They bark at most noises, and anyone who happens to walk by our window. They have gone through extensive training (2 month away from home boot camp, 2 different training classes, and at-home trainers) Regardless of their training, they still bark. It is their breed. When we even get the bark collars (shock) out, they stop. They have only been shocked once or twice and they learned from it. Plus, the other collars (spray) didn't work. They have too much hair in the way. GL!

The dog is probably lonely, especially if it is left all day and they are at work.
Have you talked with them about it?
