RP: What would you do re: Pregnancy Testing?

So based on the OPKs I ovulated this weekend and we had sex.  With DD I tested aqt 9 DPO and got a positive.  We are heading to NY on Saturday for a week to hang out with my husband's family and that will involve the lake and beer.  We'll be up there from about 7-14 DPO.  I could test while I'm there and if pregnant obviously not drink.

My question is...would you just wait to test until you were back home and just enjoy the week and having a few beers while on vacation?  We wouldn't tell his family right away even if I did test and get a positive

I would wait and test when you return home and just not drink - if someone thinks it is weird you are not drinking you can tell them that you are NOT pregnant but you never know so you are just playing it safe.  The baby forms the most important things in the first 21 days before a woman even knows she is pregnant - why would you want to chance drinking?!  Just my opinion!

Ok, so I'm probably the bad one.  I always think it's safe to drink until you're actually confirmed as being pregnant.  Even though the baby is forming at that time, it doesn't share blood with you so the alcohol isn't passed to the baby. 

Maybe this is coming from the part of me that took 2 years to conceive.  I drove myself NUTS for a long time and wouldn't drink or do anything for the entire 2ww.  My OB even told me to "drink til it's pink" because you can't stop your life hoping that you might possibly be pregnant.

well, I wouldn't be able to wait. lol. I'd test while on the trip and just hide it.  one beer , if it doesn't send you over the edge, wouldn't be a big deal... just don't get smashed.   you could sip on one over a long period of time just so noone suspects anything... although, I would probably just drink water or a soda, my family wouldn't suspect anything if I turned down a beer though. 

if you don't want to test while there, just enjoy the weekend and don't get drunk.
