Tell me about the q tip test

I googled it, but didn't really find anything helpful.  It was mostly about urinary inconctinence. 

I know that you stick the q tip up there to see if AF is on her way.  Here are my questions:

Does it work every time?

What's the time frame in which it works?

.... and one that's not q tip related....

Did anyone here ever have totally different symptoms from one pregnancy to the other?

Q-tip test works different for everyone time wise. For some it shows up pink two days before AF for others only 30 min.

And I had a couple of symptoms that were very different both times I was pg. With pg # 1 I was not very tired at all. With pg # 2 I was exhausted and could barely manage to get showered and dressed without wanting to go take a nap.
With pg # 1 My boobs hurt like crazy - I couldn't even wear a bra anymore.
With pg # 2 no pain at all with the boobies - I could even have hit them and barely felt it.

Oh yeah, in case you're wondering why I'm asking... I'm a few days late for AF, which never happened pre-MC.  I'm not sure what the new norm is post-MC because I've only gotten one AF so far.  I got some spotting 5 days before AF was due, which lined up perfectly with the implantation bleeding from the last time when I got pg.  However, I believe that the spotting was because of a yeast infection (which I got because of the antibiotics I took for a UTI... thanks for nothing body!!).  I did the q tip test and everything came out clean, so I'm wondering if that means that I for sure won't be starting in the next day or two?  And I don't think that I'm KU because the timing of sex and Oing was off and my boobies don't hurt.  When I was pregnant before, my boobies hurt well before implantation.  I'm depending on them to let me know when I'm KU from now on.

From what I have gathered it doesnt work all the time.

I think its supposed to work a couple hours before AF shows up.

The symptoms weren't all the same both times. Hope that helps

That made me laugh out loud.  I think it's just the image of you sitting there, punching your own chest.  Thanks for the info.  No thanks for getting my unrealistic "Maybe I'm pregnant" hopes even higher.

I used to be on here more, but then I had a really long annovulatory cycle and got discouraged and took a break. Im trying to post more since most of my friends moved to SAL now

Aaawww... that must feel like being the last kid picked for the team.    At least you'll have pleasant company in about 30 days.
