dry reception?!!

(bridezillas is still on)

Oh hell no, That would have meant out of 170 people invited, only about 20 would have showed up at my wedding.

Re: dry reception?!!

  • That's just asking people to stay for 30 minutes and then leave.

  • I had a dry reception. We had about 275 guests and most stayed the entire time. It just depends on if they are there to drink or be with family/friends. Life is not about alcohol and when/where you can get your next drink!

  • It wouldn't bother me.  I have some Mormon cousins and they had dry receptions.  We respected it because it was their beliefs.  But in that case we *knew* it was going to be dry and the reasoning was religious.  I'd be a bit bitter if I wasn't expecting it and they were just trying to cut corners.

We went all klassy with our wedding... we got a keg!

I will top your klassiness- cash bar. We did provide the first keg.

I'll take your cash bar and raise you a camp ground reception!

Wait... are we really bragging about these things?  Aw, well, we had a good time!

  • cash bar...we provided the ice tea and soda. I win!

  • We had a dry reception because the only place we could find for cheap was my grandmothers Baptist church's reception hall. It was nice though. We had dinner and socialized, and then we were out of there and onto the wedding night....which did involve alcohol.

    Good times.

    No coffee?  OK, you win.

  • I had a dry reception and everyone still had a good time. Alcoholism runs rampant in my mother's side of the family, so we decided to avoid any mishaps by not feeding the disease (they honestly don't know when to stop). We danced until 11:30pm and had to force people out by midnight to avoid paying more!

    To each their own. :)

    Blank!
  • oh wait, they did have coffee. It's a tie.
