Re: dry reception?!!
It wouldn't bother me. I have some Mormon cousins and they had dry receptions. We respected it because it was their beliefs. But in that case we *knew* it was going to be dry and the reasoning was religious. I'd be a bit bitter if I wasn't expecting it and they were just trying to cut corners.
We went all klassy with our wedding... we got a keg!
I'll take your cash bar and raise you a camp ground reception!
Wait... are we really bragging about these things? Aw, well, we had a good time!
We had a dry reception because the only place we could find for cheap was my grandmothers Baptist church's reception hall. It was nice though. We had dinner and socialized, and then we were out of there and onto the wedding night....which did involve alcohol.
Good times.
Let's try this again...
No coffee? OK, you win.
I had a dry reception and everyone still had a good time. Alcoholism runs rampant in my mother's side of the family, so we decided to avoid any mishaps by not feeding the disease (they honestly don't know when to stop). We danced until 11:30pm and had to force people out by midnight to avoid paying more!
To each their own.
