We have decided on the name Jovanni Manuel. We are not Italian so we didn't want to use Jiovanni, however, since we loved the name we went with Jovanni since that seemed to be the more popular use by Latinos. I am still partially on the fence with the name. Any other opinions or thoughts?
Re: We are naming our baby boy Jovanni...any thoughts?
How would it be pronounced? It seems to me the Hispanic pronunciation would be "Ho-vanni," not Giovanni.
Is that an actual spelling variation? I think it looks weird, sorry.
this. totally.
J's in Spanish make the "h" sound. Ho-vanni.
Isn't there some old cologne called Jovanni Musk? Maybe I have the name wrong, but that's what it makes me think of. Which in turn makes me think of sweaty, hairy men in tight pants trying to pick up girls half their age at nightclubs.?
I love the name Giovanni, but it is very Italian. Jovanni actually looks made up to me, and I agree, I'd pronounce it Ho-vanni if I knew it was meant to be a Hispanic name. ?
