Inspired by the post below mentioning a certain someone getting pregnant via condom breakage..
I know a couple girls who claimed they accidentally got pregnant because the condom broke, one of whom admitted after three long islands that she lied about the condom breaking. After reading the post below, I started wondering what the actual chances are of fertile window + broken condom resulting in pregnancy? I've had a condom break only once, nearly 12 years ago. At the risk of sounding like a hoochie I've had lots of, uhhhm, different opportunities for breakage since then and it's never happened again. So, I'm curious:
Have you ever had a condom break? (and did you get pregnant, if you don't mind telling us)...
(the clicky poll won't let me put this much text in.)
Re: Survey/poll: broken condom...
I think they break easier when you poke holes in them.
Just sayin.

This is very true
YES, had one break when I was 18. No did not get pg
This.
When I was in college, the condom broke so I ran to Planned Parenthood and got Plan B. It worked. I was TTA at the time, just for the record.
Yes, I've had a condom break. No, I didn't get pg.
As for the story-- I don't buy it. I don't think there was a condom involved.
DH and I used condoms for about 18 months while we were dating (and we um... did the deed quite often). We had one break once and it happened to be during my fertile time. However, I was only 18 and we were in no way ready for kids so I did the responsible thing and took Plan B just in case. No pregnancy from that.
ETA: The one that broke was expired. DH read the date on the box wrong.
Word up. DH and I used condoms for 5.5 years and never had one break. He's well hung too.
ditto.
I think condoms usually break before the act... aka while putting them on... not mid-stride
I've never in my life had a condom break.
DH had TWO break on his wedding night with his ex-wife
Thank goodness, no pregnancy resulted.
well, according to TCOYF, doing NOTHING only has an 85% 'failure rate'...
so it's gotta be slim.
That being said, I've never had a condom break in almost 2 years of use. I have neglected to use them when I should have a few time but that's different.

I hada similar experience once, except that it didn't actually break, exactly. I didn't get pregnant from it, either, though I knew nothing about my cycles as a teen and it scared the crap out of me.

That has happened once or twice over the years as well, which is why we finally stuck with Trojans. I don't know why, I assume condoms are pretty similar, and DH is pretty normal, but Durex was the problem brand for us for that.

LOL - just watch the horns it rests on.
After one unplanned pregnancy, we didn't want to chance another. That seemed the most logical thing to do.

LMAO Were you the one who told the story about doing it in the storage unit? I can't remember who that was if it wasn't you.

In ten years of sex. (just putting it all out there as requested) I have had one condom break. It broke 3 months after I got married, 3 weeks after finding out I got laid off from my job (I was breadwinner hubby was in school and working part time) it resulted in my beautiful wonderful smart daughter Leanna. Crazy odds yes. Imperfect timing obviously. Awesome blessing I wouldn't trade for a MILLION dollars...You betcha even on her/my worst day.

I've never been on hormonal birth control, I've been sexually active for the last 10 years, and I am anal about using condoms EVERY TIME (when we're not TTC, obviously). I've NEVER had a condom break. I hear about condoms breaking, and I guess I think, "Really?" because I've never experienced one breaking.
Where does it break? How does it break? (For lack of sounding too innocent...)
