house stuff

got denied a "modification" on the loan.  Why, you ask?  Because they don't think we can make payments no matter what they give us.

Nice.

FFS we're trying and they apparently don't want the $ we can give them.  Off to beg relatives for dough.  Great.  Because I wasn't embarassed enough about how my life was going lately.

I really absofuckinglutely hate being an adult.

  • I'm not up on what's going on. I'm sorry you are having to deal with this. Are you trying to refi?
  • {{hugs}}  I'm sorry Kori!!

  • Umm...why did they give you the original mortgage if they don't think you can pay less per month??  What am I missing?
  • mlm - tax asessment made everything go up more than $200 a month, and because of that we're also now negative in escrow.  Prop taxes july 1st made it go up another $70 /month.

We were fine until that $200/month hit us.

  • (((hugs)))

    bastards

I know nothing about what's going on, but is it possible to talk to another mortgage company to buy and refinance your existing loan? If this company isn't interested in working with you to keep the loan, then maybe they don't deserve your money at all.

  • oh no!  that doesn't seem right.  can you try another lender?

sorry you have to deal with this...it must be so stressful!

  • Can you look into getting your taxes reassessed? I can't imagine that housing prices are going UP in Michigan at the moment.

  • I would definitely check into another lender as well.

Also, is it possible to NOT pay the taxes with your mortgage?  It should be your own choice.  It will be tough to save the cashe to pay semi-annually but at least it will reduce your monthly expenses.

  • lari - no they went down.  Problem is, prev. owners owned the house 13 years.  So things bumped up after we had it a year back up to current $$.

Things nobody effing told us about buying an effing house.
