Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Teeth

So I heard this from a few different people that the longer it takes to get teeth the better they are when they are older.  Has anyone else heard that?

Re: Teeth

  • Our pedi told us, that the longer it takes for them to get the teeth, the longer it'll take for them to lose them when they're older, the older they'll be when they get their adult teeth, so less cavities and such...

Not sure how acurate this is, but thats what she told us. I'd be happy if it's true, DS has only two teeth at 11 and 1/2 months!

  • Yes, I've heard that in several places including a doctor so there's got to be something to it.

  • Nope but I have heard that the earlier you get them the earlier you lose them (meaning your baby teeth fall out for adult teeth).

This is what I'd heard as well.  I personally didn't get teeth until almost a year, didn't lose my first teeth until late/end of 1st grade, and **knock on wood** have never had a cavity.  Who knows if it's true...DS got his first 2 teeth at 4.5 months!  Hmm...
