  • I've done it a few ways.  Easy way, buy premaid pizza dough. Roll it out (don't use too much flour and flip over a couple times while rolling).  Put your toppings in, whatever you choose.  Fold and press together to seal. Bake. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.......

  • So weird that you would ask this since we JUST made them for the first time last night, and it was super easy!!!

We bought Pilsbury refrigerated pizza dough.... Cut the dough into two halves (or 4 if you want smaller calzones).

Roll the dough into flattened circle..... place whatever toppings/sauce you want in the circle leaving a little bit of empty space all the way around. (We used pizza sauce, pepperoni, and mozzarella)

Once stuffed, take one half of the circle and fold it over to the other side. Pinch dough together then take a fork and push it all the way along the edges to crimp the dough.

VERY carefully transfer calzones to foil lined pan. Melt 2 Tbs butter and brush over dough. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese and italian seasoning.

Bake per package directions (appx. 15-20 min) at 400 until golden brown.

Honestly we had these made and in our months in about 35 minutes! It was a great easy dinner :)?

  • In Mexico, there is a song that says (translated), "I will make your calzones just like the ones rancher wears, I will line them with wool and finish them up with leather" Calzones used to be "chaps" and more recently, calzones is the word for "underwear" in Spanish :o) Thought I would share.

Basically, I think you can take pizza dough, put whatever you want on it, and fold it over. Bake a little longer than suggested on the pizza dough package and voila! A calzone.
