The last 3 weeks have been amazing for us. DS started by saying "uh-oh", 2 days later he added "hop", and a week after that he said about 6 new words in one day. Every day since he's said several new words, including 2 and 3 word combinations. Now he'll try to say anything I ask him (one word at a time). I'd say a stranger could understand about 30% of what he says. His progress is amazing to us and I am still in shock when he speaks. This morning the kids were pretending to go shopping and he was saying "bye mom, bye Jessica" (sounded like bye bom, bye cesica)
I had heard so many stories about kids that didn't say a thing until they turned 3 or 4 and I had so much hope that would be him. But then with his apraxia dx last month I was finally accepting that it wouldn't be that easy for him. I've never been so glad to be wrong:)
