haha! ?I only know because I watch the cake shows. ?It's a type of icing that is easy to mold like playdough, and a lot of places make big sheets like rolled out and drape it over cakes, etc.?

Fancy pants icing that is smooth and beautiful but tastes like sh!t. You actually roll it out verses spreading it on like traditional icing. In all the weddings I did, I always insisted that the staff peel the fondant off before serving it (it is adhered the the cake with a thin layer of buttercreams, so it's not like I was sending cake out with no icing on it).
Re: WTF is fondant?
The stuff you put over cake to make it look smooth like that.
I'm still confused. Maybe I need to be sent back to the Knot for remedial cake class.

Maybe that will help.
Sounds delicious
Southern, K's cake is very cute though.

It's rolled out into a huge sheet and laid over the cake to make it look perfect and smooth. Very expensive and doesn't taste good IMO.
