Jake and I just went to meet with our #1 choice for a daycare provider.  We're 3rd on the waitlist for an open fall seat.  As we're talking he asked if a slot were to open earlier if we'd be interested in starting earlier (even though we can't bring babycakes until 6 weeks - which is when I would return to work at least part-time).  We said that we would be interested.

Magically, he has a family that is moving at the end of July.  He obviously has to run it past the people further ahead on the waitlist first.

Yeah, so we might be paying almost 2 months worth of daycare just to ensure that our child will have a spot when I have to go to work.  Lovely.  At least I'll have the peace of mind that it will be available when we need it, but STILL.  2 months of daycare funds just going down the drain.

And to think I just went in to discuss schedules, breastfeeding at lunch and supplies needed.

Yeesh! But, if it's your top choice and you're 100% content with sending your kid there, I think it's worth it. GL!

Yikes!  I wouldn't say you are suckers, just being good parents!  But that sucks you have to pay so much and not even have babycakes (love that btw!) attending yet!
